I am a Near Eastern Archaeologist currently pursuing a Ph.D. on Information and Records Management at Ankara University. I have a Ms Degree from Settlement Archaeology at Middle East Technical University. I worked in different archaeological sites in Turkey. I have an expertise in using remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and applied my skills in GIS for landscape archaeology as Archaeologist and Project Assistant at Kerkenes Project in Yozgat and Ankara, Turkey between 2000 and 2004. My experiences of synergy between classical methods of archaeology and information technologies has been highly influential on my professional work in Ministry of Culture and Tourism. My expertise thesis for her tenure at Ministry of Culture and Tourism was about implementation of Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology at museums, where I initiated and coordinated Museum National Inventory System (MNIS) with my colleagues. I later became the Project Manager of the System. I joined the BIAA (www.biaa.ac.uk) as Digital Repository Manager at the beginning of November 2018. I am married and I am the mother of Serra Çayırezmez.
